Ne dedin? (What did you say?) is an interactive installation that explores foreignness and the hardship or the fun of constantly deciphering meaning in a foreign land through sound. Even though there are tools for people living in a foreign country to understand their surrounding, even if you spend years in that country, you can never fully grasp your environment like a native person would. Ne dedin? (What did you say?) creates such a place for the American or non-Turkish audience through conversations and "tools". |

In Possibility explores how the choices we make invariably have consequences, both for ourselves and for everyone who crosses our path. During each moment of our lives we enact choice. Whether grand or small, every decision determines the actions we take from then on. Through this web of cause-and-effect, action-and-reaction, our lives and experiences become linked in a way that is often invisible to the naked eye. In Possibility seeks to make these connections visible. The installation is a transformable environment in which each participant's movements and actions change the space. Thus, each pathway created, each alteration of the space by the individual, creates the cumulative representation of the act of choice. Ultimately, as participants come and go through the installation, the resulting environment will be representative of the collective experience. |
