BUTCHER RULES (excerpt) ... When my brain is somewhere else, things are much harder. It has happened to me more than once. Apparently, I left my brain in my dream. I forgot it on the shelf, where I put it at a butcher’s store. It was the store policy to take off your brain before entering the sales department. I told him I was only there to borrow his knife, but he said “NO! if you don’t like it, go to the other butcher down the street and he’ll make you take off not only your brain but all of your limbs as well!” I was trying to picture myself with no arms and no legs, which was taking a long time with my distant brain on the shelf, when someone on the bus woke me up. ... |
